OUR STORY

Established to Transform Agriculture

The Plateau Commodity Marketing Company Limited (PLACOM) was created by the Plateau State Government in 2024 to address the critical gaps in agricultural commodity marketing across the state.

For decades, Plateau State's abundant agricultural produce - from Irish potatoes to vegetables, grains, and livestock - lacked organized market systems. Farmers struggled with post-harvest losses, price volatility, and limited access to premium markets.

PLACOM was established as the institutional solution: a government-backed company that organizes commodity markets, builds storage infrastructure, and connects farmers directly to domestic and international buyers.
